About JP Cages

JP Cages is a UK manufacturer of high-quality motorsport roll cages, based in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. We design and build roll cages for track, road, and competition cars, supplying customers across the UK and internationally.

Built through hard work, industry experience, and a genuine passion for motorsport fabrication, JP Cages has grown into a trusted specialist brand. Our focus is simple: to produce roll cages with the fit, strength, safety, and quality that serious builds demand.

Our Story

JP Cages began as JP Engineering, a small welding and fabrication business founded by Josh after six years of industry experience.

What started as general fabrication work soon took a new direction when Josh was asked to build a roll cage for a friend. After researching the relevant regulations and completing the project, the finished cage was shared online. The response was immediate, with more enquiries following soon after.

In January 2018, the business moved into a larger unit in Woodhall Spa and JP Cages was born.

Since then, JP Cages has continued to grow into a specialist manufacturer of bespoke weld-in and bolt-in roll cages, built in the UK for customers who value quality, precision, and honest service.

How we operate...

We use only the best materials for our cages. As standard we use E355+N E355+N which exceeds the Motorsport UK requirements, which are listed below:

Material

Cold Drawn Seamless Unalloyed Carbon Steel, containing a maximum of 0.3% of carbon.

Note: For an unalloyed carbon steel the maximum content of additives is 1.7% for manganese and 0.6% for other elements.

Minimum Yield Strength 350 N/mm2

Minimum Dimensions (Ø in mm)

(a) Mandatory tubular members
45 x 2.5 (1.75” x 0.095”) or 50 x 2.0 (2.0” x 0.083”).
38 x 2.5 (1.5” x 0.095”) or 40 x 2.0 (1.6” x 0.083”).
(For roll cages/bars approved prior to 01/01/1995).

(b) Optional tubular members
38 x 2.5 (1.5” x 0.095”) or 40 x 2.0 (1.6” x 0.083”).

E355+ N contains the following:

Minimum Yield Strength : 355 N/mm2

Minimum Tensile Strength : 490-630N/mm2

Minimum Elongation : 22%

Carbon 0.22%

Manganese 1.6%

We also use T45:
T45 Steel Tube or to give it the correct name BS4 T45 to BS5 T100 is a very unique seamless carbon-based steel tube that has been used in many applications throughout industry. T45 Steel Tube possesses high tensile and yield properties. Its excellent strength to weight ratio enables it to have many industrial uses from Roll Cages in Motorsport to Defense and Aerospace applications.

The advantage of such strong material means you can use a smaller thinner tube against conventional steel products but get the same or increased strength.

Thinner tube makes the product lighter, which has obvious advantages in motorsport, armoured vehicles and the aerospace industry.
