About JP Cages – UK Roll Cage Specialists
JP Cages is more than just a roll cage manufacturer. It’s the result of ambition, graft, risk, mistakes, determination, and a genuine passion for building something properly.
Based in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, we design and manufacture high-quality roll cages for road, track, and motorsport builds across the UK and internationally. But behind the products is a real story — not a corporate one.
I didn’t come from money, business experience, or a clear roadmap. I came from a normal working background, with a love for cars, fabrication, and figuring things out the hard way. At 22, I decided to walk away from the lifestyle I was in and try to build something of my own. It wasn’t polished, planned, or easy — but it was honest.
JP Cages started life as JP Engineering, a small welding and fabrication business taking on general work. After around six years in industry, I was asked to build a roll cage for a friend. I researched the regulations, built the cage, posted it online, and almost by accident, enquiries started coming in. That one job showed me there was a niche, and more importantly, something I genuinely cared about.
In early 2018, we moved into a larger unit in Woodhall Spa and the focus shifted fully towards roll cages. What began as one cage for a mate slowly grew into a specialist business, designing and building bespoke weld-in and bolt-in roll cages for customers who care about their cars as much as we care about our work.
The journey has never been straightforward. I’ve made impulsive decisions, taken risks, struggled with organisation, and learned plenty of lessons the hard way. Being diagnosed with ADHD later in life helped me understand a lot about how I work — fast-moving, intense, sometimes chaotic, but always driven. It has shaped both the challenges and the energy behind JP Cages.
Today, JP Cages is supported by a loyal, hard-working team who take real pride in what leaves the workshop. We’re not trying to be a faceless brand. We’re a business built by real people, with real graft, and a genuine respect for the customers who trust us with their builds.
What makes us different is simple: we care. We give honest advice, we don’t push people into things they don’t need, and we treat every customer with respect. Whether someone is building a track day car, a club-level competition car, or a serious motorsport project, we know that every build matters to the person behind it.
We’re still growing, still improving, and still pushing JP Cages forward. Our aim is to keep expanding our product range, build strong relationships with motorsport businesses, retailers, and customers, and become one of the most trusted names in UK roll cage manufacturing.
JP Cages was built from nothing — and that’s something we’re proud of.

How we operate...
We use only the best materials for our cages. As standard we use E355+N E355+N which exceeds the Motorsport UK requirements, which are listed below:
Material
Cold Drawn Seamless Unalloyed Carbon Steel, containing a maximum of 0.3% of carbon.
Note: For an unalloyed carbon steel the maximum content of additives is 1.7% for manganese and 0.6% for other elements.
Minimum Yield Strength 350 N/mm2
Minimum Dimensions (Ø in mm)
(a) Mandatory tubular members
45 x 2.5 (1.75” x 0.095”) or 50 x 2.0 (2.0” x 0.083”).
38 x 2.5 (1.5” x 0.095”) or 40 x 2.0 (1.6” x 0.083”).
(For roll cages/bars approved prior to 01/01/1995).
(b) Optional tubular members
38 x 2.5 (1.5” x 0.095”) or 40 x 2.0 (1.6” x 0.083”).
E355+ N contains the following:
Minimum Yield Strength : 355 N/mm2
Minimum Tensile Strength : 490-630N/mm2
Minimum Elongation : 22%
Carbon 0.22%
Manganese 1.6%
We also use T45:
T45 Steel Tube or to give it the correct name BS4 T45 to BS5 T100 is a very unique seamless carbon-based steel tube that has been used in many applications throughout industry. T45 Steel Tube possesses high tensile and yield properties. Its excellent strength to weight ratio enables it to have many industrial uses from Roll Cages in Motorsport to Defense and Aerospace applications.
The advantage of such strong material means you can use a smaller thinner tube against conventional steel products but get the same or increased strength.
Thinner tube makes the product lighter, which has obvious advantages in motorsport, armoured vehicles and the aerospace industry.
